An Early Reading Deep Dive
Morven Park School wanted an additional perspective on their Phonics and Early Reading provision. Our deep dive day included high-level auditing conversations with leaders, reading with pupils, and learning walks which evaluated the recently established Phonics and Reading Programme. Key aspects of best practise and next steps for development were disseminated with all staff through a practical twilight meeting at the end of the day. The Early Reading Lead was delighted with the quality assurance, having gained a clear plan and some instantly actionable steps.

Evaluating Phonics in Special School
The Vale School sought professional advice for implementing a Phonics and Reading programme for pupils with a wide range of additional needs. Work included a series of CPD opportunities to develop key subject knowledge, as well as considering reasonable adjustments to ensure pupil access to the validated phonics programme. Further practical CPD opportunities included developing prephonics provision and sensory stories for PMLD students. Supportive and ongoing feedback for staff resulted in the reassurance and knowledge required to meet individual needs with high levels of success.

Building vocabulary fast through quality play interactions
The staff at Christ The King School were eager to continue to improve quality provision for EYFS children, with a focus on improving the quality and quantity of adult interactions during play. We began with an initial subject knowledge based session, where staff learnt about the role of adult as a facilitator of sustained shared thinking. This was followed with a range of highly successful practical tasks, where staff put theory into practice in real-life classroom situations. This day had a significant impact on long term communication and language outcomes and overall engagement throughout the EYFS.

Co-planning a language rich vision and plan for Nursery
At Cottesbrook Infant School, staff were on a mission to develop Language and Literacy provision, through a holistic, book-based approach. Staff were inspired by a range of new stories, songs, and activities that integrated with existing effective practice. We used the school’s vision for reading to underpin a simple, user-friendly curriculum map which we created in a day! The teachers were inspired and couldn’t wait to get started.

Preschool Phonics for our nursery chain
Little Learners Nurseries were keen to up-skill the whole staff team in all areas of pre-reading. The directors had become aware of changes to Phonics expectations in the feeder schools and wanted to dispel myths and reaffirm best early years practice. Staff were supported through hands-on practical training activities, coaching conversations, and live demonstrations to embed understanding. We also included an interactive follow-up meeting to inform and engage families. During a follow-up visit we observed how much the children were learning during the prephonics sessions, and how hard the staff had worked to implement everything they’d learnt.

- A Full Phonics and Early Reading Review, including a comprehensive action plan based key findings £650
- Conference speaking events and workshops, from £350
- Full Training Days (including Letters and Sounds Whole School training, resources etc) £600
- Pay by the hour 1-1 advice and coaching for EYFS / Phonics / English Leads / NQTs / RQTs and Leadership Teams, starts at £50 per hour, or £250 for 6 x 1 hour sessions throughout the academic year.
